Salary: A competitive salary from £85,760 - £128,640 depending on the experience you can bring

As our Head of Workplace Communication & Engagement, you will lead the workplace communications and education teams to deliver market leading communication strategies for employers and pension scheme members. You will help to develop and maintain a market leading education capability; combining the skills of various teams to support both the direct needs of Employers, and how we integrate engagement and education through our Pension Geeks team and Mylo, our multi award winning trusted savings partner for members.
Focused on helping our customers live their best lives and achieve their retirement ambitions – this individual will be responsible for making sure all workplace communication, campaigns and educational activity is compelling, engaging and easy to understand.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Leading teams to develop and deliver the channel audience plan to ensure a coherent and joined up story to the external market. Encouraging teams to design and create compelling and strategic campaigns, which support Aegon’s objectives and the brand story across channels. Providing coaching and mentoring to ensure continuous development within the communications leadership team.
- Owning the external narrative for workplace within Aegon, ensuring a consistent messaging framework is cascaded. Developing an education strategy incorporating Pension Geeks and Member Communications.
- Supporting the teams to deliver communication and education strategies to support commercial objectives. Delivering regulatory initiatives as a priority adhering to the timelines required.
- Working closely with our proposition teams, customer insights team, data analytics and use customer panel to ensure all communications are targeted and tested to deliver a compelling story to market as to why Aegon has a differentiated offering and to support to good customer outcomes.
- Working closely with the Proposition and Customer care senior leadership teams – you will be responsible for creating a joined-up marketing strategy for workplace to engage and drive awareness of Aegon’s evolving proposition with the Adviser, Employee Benefits Consultancy (EBC) and employer communities.
- Producing regular governance reports for Aegon UK Boards and Committees to update on our strategy, progress and plans – including regular analysis on our KPI measures.
- Regular reporting and presenting to Executive-level stakeholders to ensure they are clear on our ambition, progress and activity for our workplace and Master Trust scheme members.
We’d love to hear from you if you have:
- Strong leadership skills within a similar, relevant role.
- Significant senior communications and strategic marketing experience, with proven track record of marketing ROI performance. Ideally, you will have a balance of creative and analytical marketing experience.
- Strong understanding of the regulatory framework in UK financial services and the application to customer conduct and product governance.
- Extensive understanding of the financial services sector and the associated customer demands and distribution dynamics.
- Ability to interpret external and internal insights and industry best practice and translate this into actionable, cost effective, targeted campaigns.
- Ability to interact with Executives and effectively influence strategic planning.
- Strong business acumen and the ability to think with commercial flair.
- Proven budget and supplier management.
- Extensive understanding of marketing best practice principles and techniques in a multi-channel environment – including digital and traditional marketing techniques.

- We’re serious about your future and our enhanced pension scheme is now in place. We ask you to contribute 3% of your salary to your pension and we’ll put in 9%. If you decide to contribute more, we’ll match it up to a combined total of 20% of your salary (that’s 7% from you and 13% from us).
