Tax Accountant
Responsibilities
Prepares local, state, and federal tax returns using tax compliance software. Additionally assists in reporting taxes in the financial statements.
Prepares, maintains, and analyzes tax workpapers and reports, subject to review.
Researches basic tax issues using tax research software, and documents findings.
Uses multiple financial reporting systems and/or complex reporting tools to input, retrieve, or summarize tax information.
May rotate between different tax specialty groups within the tax department.
Makes recommendations for improvements to processes and procedures, updates documentation of tax processes.
Explains to others how analysis was produced and/or reported
Project work as needed in other multiple bases of Tax accounting analysis and reporting.
Responsible for adherence to the company’s framework of internal controls.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in accounting or equivalent work experience.
Up to 2 years of professional experience in tax, accounting, or comparable area.
Requires working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
Fundamental knowledge of tax accounting concepts, practices and procedures.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Must be detail-oriented.
Solid planning and organizational skills, including the ability to perform multiple assignments.
Works effectively individually and within a team.
Working Conditions
Hybrid (Tuesday - Thursday)
