Middle-class Americans continue to face a challenging retirement landscape, shaped by the rising cost of living, competing financial priorities and uncertainty about the future. Yet many remain committed to saving and planning for retirement, according to new research from nonprofit Transamerica Center for Retirement Studies in collaboration with Transamerica Institute*.
The report, The American Middle Class: Influences of Gender on Retirement Security, examines the well-being, finances and retirement preparedness of Americans with household incomes between $50,000 and $199,999. In an interview on Transamerica.com, Catherine Collinson, CEO and President of Transamerica Institute and TCRS, discusses the findings and the different factors shaping retirement security for women and men.
